Second Facade Option – Residential Project No. 100

As the design process progressed and following the initial studies, it was decided to develop a second facade option for Residential Building No. 100 in Mehrshahr. The objective of this alternative proposal was to strengthen the volumetric expression in specific parts of the building and to activate the northwestern corner of the site. This corner had the strongest visual connection to the surrounding apple orchard and therefore held significant potential to enhance both the quality of views and the interior spatial experience

.

In this new composition, the primary focus was placed on rotating, emphasizing, and activating the northwestern corner so that the building could establish a stronger and more distinct presence in relation to the apple orchard. This approach allowed the facade geometry at that particular angle to become more open, flexible, and expressive, while also influencing the spatial organization of the floors

To create a distinct identity for this option, a secondary material with a different color and texture was introduced alongside the main facade surface. This choice was made early in the design process, inspired by the color and visual presence of the red apple as the dominant element in the orchard across the site. The introduction of this secondary material, appearing as a vivid accent within the facade composition, serves as a conceptual reference to the apple orchard and subtly guides the viewer’s perception toward this contextual relationship

Ultimately

the second facade option represents an effort to place the building in a more direct dialogue with its natural surroundings. The previously passive corner has been transformed into an active and defining architectural element, while the new material composition introduces a distinctive character to the building without compromising the core design principles of the project
